Day 1- Leopard watch!

Start your wildlife tour with a BANG by travelling to Wilpattu National Park which is the largest and oldest Park in Sri Lanka. This vast jungle has an abundant array of lakes and forest which holds sanctuary to deer’s, sloth bears, elephants and different types of endemic birds. But most importantly, this is one of the best jungles to spot the rare leopard!

Day 2 – Elephants, everywhere!

Travel from Wilpattu to Minneriya and go on a safari at the Minneriya National Park which is one of the best places to see herds of elephants, as they gather by the ancient Minneriya Tank to quench their thirst, play around or take a cool dip in the water.

Day 3 – Sacred wild sanctuary

Travel to the Somawathiya National Park and spend the day exploring yet another unique part of the island. The park is home to the famous Somawathiya stupa which is believed to contain a sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. Here, you will find plains of lavish grasslands and many large wild elephants visiting the temple and staying in close proximity in order to protect it. Drive through the Trikonamadu Nature Reserve and enjoy views of the untapped biodiversity.

Day 4 – Secret Hideout!

Travel from Minneriya to the Wasgamuwa National Park, one of the four parks bordering the Mahaweli River. In this part of the jungle, you’d find a large number of elephants gathered together, sometimes almost up to a hundred!

Day 5 – A day of exploration!

Spend your second day in Wasgamuwa by travelling to Maduru Oya where you’d be spending the day. Visit the Dambana Vedda Village and meet the ‘Veddas’- indigenous people of Sri Lanka. Climb the Kuda Sigiriya ( little Sigiriya) rock and enjoy a view of lush green agricultural cultivation. Have lunch by the Mahaweli river and spend the rest of the day relaxing in serenity.

Day 6 – Be One With Nature!

Travel from Wasgamuwa to Gal Oya, another one of Sri Lanka’s remote and least visited wilderness areas holding many wild animals ranging from, buffalos, samba deer’s, endangered birds, herds of elephants, crocodiles and many more. Spend your day cycling, trekking and even enjoying a picnic by the river.

Day 7 & 8 – Camping Adventure!

Travel from Gal Oya to Kumana – a jungle known to having a wide array of migratory birds that surround the many lagoons and tanks bordering the National Park. Spend two days camping inside the National Park itself and enjoy the ultimate experience of going on safari and relaxing in the wilderness.

Day 9 – Under The Sea!

Travel from Kumana to Kirinda, a coastal village with empty beaches ideal for long evening walks. Visit the Kirinda Temple, a shrine located on top of large rocks which holds great historic significance of the story of Queen Viharamahadevi.

Enjoy a snorkeling excursion and explore the rich marine life under water with a variety of fish and even some shipwrecks.

Day 10 – Final Day In The Wilderness!

At the final day of your adventure, travel from Kirinda to Udawalawe to spend one more night in the jungle.

Go on a safari in the Udawalawe National Park to spot a few elephants and deer’s. Visit the Elephant Transit Home and get to see how a few elephant calves been taken care of before being released back into the wild.

Day 11 – Returning Home

Transfer to the airport to catch the return flight home.
